When Benjamin Britten wrote “A Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra” he used Purcell’s famous theme from “A Moor’s Revenge.” We wanted to use the same theme, but create our own variations based on our show theme, which was “A young Person’s Guide (to life).” The best part about this process was just giving Craig the melody and telling him to go! We basically told him the general idea of the show with the important learning moments we all have in life that we wanted to focus on and let him write. The finished product turned out great and far exceeded our expectations!
