“The Road to Nowhere” contemporary march setting in a minor mode. The goal was to expose the students to independent parts, as well as give each section a time to shine on the melody. The title comes from a location in the Smokey Mountains near Bryson City, North Carolina, where the parks started a road through the National Park, but was never completed, giving the location an apropos name.
