“After silence, that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music”
~Aldous Huxley
Music can communicate with people in a way that few things can. It speaks without words, but often says much more. “After Silence” is not meant to tell any sort of story to the listener. It is meant to speak differently to all listeners.
The writing has a certain meaning to me and is my unspoken expression of feelings I’ve had. My hope is that the piece will connect to each listener in a unique and meaningful way. It is not important what I feel when I hear it, but it is more important what others feel when listening, performing, or conduction the piece. Free yourself to just sit back and let your mind wander through its own silent expression of “After Silence”.
