“A Time for Change” was written for the Morton Jr. High Band in Morton, Illinois. Its was planned for use on a cross-curricular level. The piece uses period music from the Revolutionary War to roughly represent the story of My Brother Sam is Dead, by James Lincoln Collier. The students all read the book and this piece was performed at a Revolutionary War assembly to complete the unit on Revolutionary War history.
